In June 2026 The Times published a Times Law profile of our founder, David Haigh, by legal affairs journalist Catherine Baksi. In the paper's own words, after a decade-long fight, “all of the claims were finally dismissed”. For our founder that sentence closed a chapter. What The Times records
The profile traces the story that made this firm what it is: the 2014 arrest in Dubai, nearly two years of detention without a fair trial, the torture that a UK court later accepted in full, and the decade of proceedings, harassment, surveillance and spyware that followed. It records how that fight ended: in March 2025 the English High Court and the Dubai courts dismissed every remaining claim against him, and the civil restraint order was set aside. Years earlier, a Scottish court had already described him as an honest and intelligent witness.
Why it matters for the people we act for
Everything this firm does is built on knowing Dubai, the wider UAE and its legal machinery from both sides. When we tell a client that charges can be manufactured, that courts can be weaponised, and that both can be beaten, that is not theory. It is our founder's documented, court-recorded experience, and it is why nobody who comes to us should ever face that system alone.
